Starlink and a FortiGate firewall for the LAC office in Monrovia

The challenge

LAC needed a Starlink link with a firewall at its Monrovia office on 20th Street, Sinkor. The roof was not used for the antenna, so the dish needed its own mast in the ground beside the building, with a clear view of the sky.

What we did

  • Cut a galvanised pipe mast to length on site and set it in a block foundation dug beside the building.
  • Mounted a Starlink Performance Kit (Gen3) dish on the mast with the Performance Wedge Mount, after testing the dish on a temporary stand.
  • Ran the cable from the mast head to the building eave.
  • Installed and powered up a FortiGate 70G firewall.
  • Commissioned the link with the customer on site and coordinated with the Marlink NOC. Heavy rain in Monrovia delayed the start on 12 August 2026; the job was finished on 13 August 2026.

The result

The Starlink terminal was online at commissioning on 12 August 2026 at 17:17 local time. The dish passed its hardware self-test and reported correct alignment.
