Privacy policy
What information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
This Privacy Policy describes how Global IT Firm ("Global IT Firm", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you visit globalitfirm.net (the "Site") or contact us through it. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Global IT Firm, Inc. (Business Registration No. 052169836) is a Liberian-owned Managed IT Services Provider registered with the Liberia Business Registry, with offices at 20th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia, Montserrado County, Liberia. For any privacy question, contact us at info@globalitfirm.net or +231 770 684 591.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
When you complete a form on the Site (contact, quote request, GIT EduLab application, product or solution enquiry, service enquiry, careers application, newsletter sign-up, or store order), we collect the details you provide. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, organisation, sector, budget range, message content, the delivery location for a store order, and any attachments or details you choose to share.
Form records: each submission is emailed to our team and kept in a server log with the date and your IP address.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs: our hosting provider records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps for security and diagnostics.
- Analytics (only with your consent): Google Analytics 4. Analytics is currently switched off and no analytics cookies are set until it is enabled and you consent.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries, quotes, and applications;
- To provide, operate, and improve our services and the Site;
- To send you a confirmation that we received your message, and to follow up about your request;
- To protect the Site against spam, abuse, and security threats;
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Cookies and consent
We use a small number of essential cookies needed to run the Site. We only load analytics and other non-essential services after you consent via our cookie banner. Until you opt in, analytics stay off. We apply Google Consent Mode, which sets all analytics and advertising storage to "denied" by default. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Depending on the features you use, the following third-party services may process limited data:
- Google Fonts: to display the Site's fonts;
- Google Analytics 4: aggregate usage statistics, only after you accept (currently switched off);
- Google Maps: the Contact page shows a static placeholder instead of a live map. The Google Maps map loads only if you select "Load Google Map"; at that point Google receives your IP address and browser details. You can also open the location directly on Google Maps in a new tab;
- OpenStreetMap and cdnjs: the project map on the Projects page loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers and the Leaflet map library from cdnjs, which receive your IP address when the map loads;
- Flutterwave: when online payment is offered in our store, card and Mobile Money payments are processed by Flutterwave. We do not store your card details;
- WhatsApp: only if you choose to start a chat with us.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
4a. International data transfers
Our website and form submissions are hosted on servers located in the United States, and some of the third-party providers listed above operate internationally. This means your information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries outside your own. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data continues to be protected in line with this policy.
4b. Legal basis for processing
Where data-protection law such as the GDPR applies to you, we process your personal data on one or more of these bases: your consent (e.g. analytics and newsletter); the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request (e.g. responding to an enquiry or fulfilling a store order); our legitimate interests in operating, improving and securing the Site; and compliance with legal obligations.
5. How we protect your information
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you send us, including HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, and spam and abuse protections. No method of sending data over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and review our practices regularly.
6. Data retention
We keep enquiry and application data only as long as necessary to respond to and act on your request, to maintain business records, and to meet legal requirements. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
As a guide, we keep enquiries that do not lead to work for up to 24 months, unsuccessful job applications for up to 12 months, and server logs for up to 12 months. Records linked to contracts, orders and payments are kept for as long as Liberian law requires.
7. Your rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have provided to us, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing info@globalitfirm.net. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
