How GIT EduLab works

Global IT Firm puts in the capital; the school provides the room and the students. We share the revenue, and we carry the investment risk.

The 70/30 revenue split

Of every dollar the lab generates:

70% to Global IT Firm
Covers capital, operations & maintenance
30% to the school
Income for the school, with no costs to cover

Revenue is generated through student lab fees, ICT training programmes, community access programmes and corporate training partnerships run through the school's lab during off-peak hours.

Frequently asked questions

Does the school need to pay anything upfront? ▾
No. Global IT Firm funds 100% of the lab construction, equipment purchase, installation, solar power, air conditioning and all other setup costs. The school provides only the room.
Who owns the equipment in the lab? ▾
Global IT Firm owns all equipment for the duration of the partnership agreement. This is what makes the zero-capital model possible. Ownership terms for the equipment at the end of the agreement period are defined in the partnership contract.
How is the 30% school revenue actually paid? ▾
We track revenue through our billing and management system and send the school administration a monthly statement showing all income generated. The school's 30% share is paid monthly by mobile money or bank transfer.
What happens if equipment breaks or needs maintenance? ▾
Global IT Firm is responsible for all maintenance, repairs and equipment replacement, at no cost to the school. Support is available during business hours, Monday to Friday, and critical issues are handled within 24 hours.
Can students use the lab for free, or do they pay fees? ▾
During scheduled school ICT lessons, students access the lab as part of their normal school programme. Fee arrangements during school hours are set out in the partnership agreement. Most of the lab's revenue comes from after-school access programmes, community training sessions and corporate training at off-peak times.
Are schools outside Harper City or Maryland County eligible? ▾
The first phase of GIT EduLab is focused on Harper City and Maryland County. Schools in other counties can still apply and register their interest. They will be prioritised in Phase 2, when the programme expands across Liberia.
