The challenge

ACE needed field engineers in two countries to install satellite links at its cable stations, working alongside the carrier teams that run the submarine cable infrastructure.

What we did

  • ACE cable station, A1 Bendu Drive, Lumley Beach, Freetown: installation of a 2.4m C-Band terminal with a Newtec MDM3310 modem and 10W C-Band BUC for ACE (Zoodlabs), including civil work, antenna assembly, pointing, carrier line-up, a cross-polarisation (CPI) test, link test, grounding and job documentation. Completed 12 January 2023.
  • Lynch Street station, Monrovia: full installation of a 2.4m C-Band terminal with a Newtec MDM3310 modem and 10W C-Band BUC, completed 26 May 2023.
  • Worked alongside carrier teams on delivery at both sites.

The result

Two cable stations in two countries were connected in 2023.
